Paul Allen Doré, 65, of Katy, Texas passed away peacefully on June 15, 2018. Today is a much darker day without Paul as he lived each moment for his family and loved putting smiles on everyone’s face. Paul was the eldest child of Paul and Hazel Doré, both deceased. He was born in Erath, Louisiana on January 10, 1953, where he grew up until attending the University of Southwestern Louisiana. There he studied Geology and met Rhoda, the love of his life for over 45 years. He and Rhoda married in Lafayette, Louisiana and had one daughter, Alexandra (married to John Derek Fulton), who with his granddaughter Emerson Leigh, all survive him. He is also survived by his sisters, Edna Doré and Diana Broussard (married to Shelly Broussard), along with several beloved nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Rhoda (May 13, 2018).
Paul retired from Murphy Exploration and Production Company as the Vice President of North America Onshore Exploration and Geoscience. He was loved and respected by his colleagues and took great pride in his career and truly loved the oil and gas industry.
The most joyous of times for Paul were spent with family and friends. His infectious laughter and jokes will always be remembered. His favorite titles of all were being Poppy to his granddaughter, Emmy; Dad to his daughter, Alex; and husband to his wife, Rhoda. He found the son he never had in his son-in-law, Derek, and the two shared a special bond. He also enjoyed traveling with Rhoda, cooking good Cajun food, golfing with friends, hunting, and fishing.
