Paul loved his years of baseball at St. Pius X High School, San Jacinto College, and then ultimately going semi-pro with Jack Schultea’s Northwest Wildcats.
An avid fisherman, he loved nature. He was a caring husband, son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. He was the sunlight in a dark room.
Paul is survived by his loving wife Crissy; his parents Ray and Randa Gilliam; his brother Peter Gilliam and his wife JoAnn, and their daughter Mary; his sister Charlotte Ray and her husband Jeff, and their children Jacob and Emma; grandfathers, Roger Gilliam and his wife Carroll, and Earl Bayne; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o’clock in the afternoon until seven o’clock in the evening on Thursday, the 4th of March, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston, where a vigil service and recitation of the Holy Rosary is to commence at seven o’clock.
A Mass of Christian Burial is to be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning on Friday, the 5th of March, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 1801 Sage Road in Houston, where the Rev. Msgr. Frank H. Rossi, S.T.L., is to serve as celebrant.
Honored to serve as Pall Bearers during the services are Peter Gilliam, Jeff Ray, Gary Majewski, Eric Michalak, Brandon Michalak and Michael Wilson.
The Rite of Committal will follow, via an escorted cortege, at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery in Houston.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions in Paul’s name be directed to the charity of one’s choice.
