Apart from his public service and volunteering, he loved to watch Netflix with his wife Kathy and shoot BB Guns with his grandson Jack, who loved spending time with his Papa.
Paul was a passionate fan of the Blue Devils, and his mother Jean would bring him a new shirt every time she returned from Duke University. He owned at least 10 of those shirts. He also enjoyed Mexican and Italian food, and his favorite spots were Las Flores and Olive Garden.
