Pauline Jeneter Samuels was born on November 15, 1947, in Jamaica to Harold Wilson and Gloria Hall.
She was a woman of deep faith, elegant style, and boundless generosity. Her life was defined by service to her family, her patients, and her community.
Pauline’s journey took her to The Bahamas, where she met her husband, Rionando Samuels. In 1982, they made Houston their home.
Pauline dedicated her career to healthcare at St. Luke’s Hospital. Through hard work, she advanced from a housekeeper to a nursing assistant. She retired after years of compassionate service.
Her deep Christian faith guided her every action, and she remained a devoted supporter of local Houston churches throughout her life.
With grace, passions, and generosity, Pauline brought beauty into everything she touched. She possessed an exceptional eye for fashion and was always immaculately dressed—even while tending to her beloved pink roses. Her home was a reflection of that same warmth and attention to detail.
She was also a gifted cook who found immense joy in feeding others. Though she ate very little herself, her happiest moments were spent packing meals for family, friends, and neighbors to take home.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Gladstone Wilson and Junior Wilson, and her son Ryan Oniel Samuels.
Her legacy of love lives on through her siblings: Vena and Rose Marie. Her Children: Horace (Dave), Marceline (Carla), and Ricardo (Ricky). Her 12 cherished grandchildren: Dwight (deceased), Peter, Precious, Cinnamon, Vanilla, Horace, Kenya, Imani, Hasani. Makayla, Tahir, Lemar, Darren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
Pauline’s kindness, grace, and faith will forever live in our hearts. May she rest in peace.
