Peggy L. Szurek, was born December 23, 1940 in Soso, Mississippi. God called her home on September 28, 2012, with her family by her side. Peggy grew up in Ellisville, Mississippi, and attended Jones County Junior College and was Rotary Queen in 1959. Peggy moved to Texas and attended Sam Houston State University. Peggy worked in the Commercial Title business over 30 years. Peggy also was employed by Houston Independent School District for 10 years before retiring in 2004. Peggy is survived by her husband R. J. Szurek of 30 years, four children Michael Knudson, Jason Knudson, Edward Szurek and Tracy Skinner, seven grandchildren, her sister Maybelle Brent, and brother-in-law Chris Dinklage and numerous nieces and nephews.
Peggy family would like for you to join them at her visitation on Tuesday, October 2, 20121 from 6-8 pm at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. A service celebrating her life will be Wednesday, October 3, 2012 in the chapel of Memorial Oaks Funeral Home at 3:00 P.M. with Pastor Larry Bertrand officiating. Concluding services Peggy will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery.
