

Peter was born on August 22, 1954, in Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State, Nigeria, to the late Chief William Adigwe Brown Njokanma and the late Mrs. Elizabeth Onyeka Brown-Njokanma. He spent his formative years between Lagos and Ogwashi-Uku, where he received his early education at St. Paul’s Catholic Primary School in Ebute Metta, Lagos, and later attended St. Michael’s Catholic Secondary School in Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State. He then moved to the United States to pursue his higher education at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, paving the way for a distinguished professional career.
After his education, Peter returned to Nigeria to begin his working career with Gulschalk (UAC) Nigeria Limited, where he served as a Sales Clerk from 1973 to 1976 and then completed his mandatory service in the Nigeria National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in 1984–1985. After his Service, he joined the prestigious Ibru Group in Lagos, Nigeria, as an Administration Manager. Through dedication, integrity, and exceptional leadership, he steadily rose through the ranks at Ibru to become Group General Manager, a position that reflected the deep respect and admiration he earned throughout his decades of service. He was widely regarded as a kind and thoughtful leader, a mentor to many, and someone who led with both humility and strength.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Peter will be most remembered for the joy he brought to those around him. He had a vibrant spirit, a generous heart, and an infectious sense of humor that could light up any room. Known for his love of dancing, laughter, and storytelling, Peter had a remarkable ability to lift the spirits of others and bring people together. His presence was warm, uplifting, and unforgettable, and many knew him as the light of every gathering.
Peter found great joy in spending time with family and friends and cherished every opportunity to create lasting memories with those he loved. His faith in God remained a constant source of strength and purpose throughout his life.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Brown; his children, Peter Brown Jr., Cynthia Brown, Christopher Brown (and daughter-in-law, Briana Brown), and Edward Brown; his grandson, Christopher Brown Jr.; his brothers and sisters; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Though his passing leaves a tremendous void, Peter’s legacy lives on through the family he loved, the values he instilled, and the countless lives he touched throughout his lifetime. He will be remembered for his strength, faith, generosity, wisdom, and unwavering devotion to his family and community.
The funeral service celebrating Peter’s life will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home & Cemetery. Interment will immediately follow at the Texas Liberty Mausoleum at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home & Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to join in honoring and celebrating his life and legacy.
