

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our cherished wife and mother, Petra Delgado Cox, who left us on September 4th, 2024, at the age of 74. Born on June 13, 1950, in Puerto de Dolores, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, she was the beloved daughter of Jose Lucio Delgado Flores and Sabina Jimenez Romero.
Petra Delgado Cox was a beacon of love, kindness, and strength. Her life was a testament to the power of compassion and the importance of family. She dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her loved ones, always putting their needs before her own. Her warm smile, gentle touch, and unwavering support will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was passionate about her profession as a professional cake decorator for over 30 years working for Randalls and Kroger, but we all know she was GAMBLER at heart!
She is survived by her loving husband, Lloyd D. Cox, her children, Valentin Palomo (deceased), Maria Elena DiPalomo, Cecilio Palomo & Sonia Palomo (Wife), Maria Yolanda De La Garza, Maria Lorena Earls & Brian Earls (Husband), Maria Liliana Palomo & Victor Villalpando (Husband), Petra Dawn Cox-Cinco & Willian Cinco (Husband), Misty Cox Chapman & Eric Chapman (Husband) and her grandchildren, Kristina E. Drake, Amanda P. Drake, David S. Drake, Morelia V. Weekes, Maria E. Cortez, Erika Palomo, Perla Palomo, Alexandra Palomo, Sonia Palomo, Yolanda L. Bernardino, Gerardo De La Garza Jr. Ricky, Mark, Brandon, Brittney, Alexia, Gabriel, Joseph J. Palomo, Monica J. Rex, Vanessa Jimenez, Cindy E. Peña, Christopher D. Palomo, Jesse L. Cox, Aaron L. Cinco, Caleb J. Cinco, Danielle Chapman and 12 great grandkids. Sisters: Inez Delgado Jimenez (deceased), Maria Elena Delgado Jimenez, Beatriz Delgado Jimenez, Ramona Delgado Jimenez, Jovita Perez; Brothers: Abel Delgado Jimenez, Efren Delgado Jimenez, Constantino Delgado Jimenez, Lorenzo Delgado Jimenez, Lucio Delgado Jimenez (deceased), Alejandro Delgado Jimenez (deceased) and all extended nieces & nephews, along with bothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Her legacy of love and generosity will continue to live on through them.

A visitation for Petra will be held Sunday, September 8, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 12:00 AM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. A funeral service will occur Monday, September 9, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 2131 Lauder Rd, Houston, Texas 77039.
A committal will occur Monday, September 9, 2024, from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
