

Philip Lee Anderson was born in Houston, Texas, on March 30, 1956, to Aubrey Kenneth Anderson and Ruth Janice Patterson. He passed away suddenly on April 14, 2016. Phil was a devoted father to his three children: Shane, Starr, Sarah. He was known as "Pop" to his seven grandchildren whom were fortunate to have had the chance to develop their own unique relationship with him.
Pop was a gifted athlete. He was a standout baseball player from the young age of nine through high school, where he held the record for highest batting average for some time. His grandchildren are now following in his footsteps. He was dearly loved.
In 1972, Philip married his high school love, Linda Sue Maxey (literally, the girl next door). At the young of 16, they started their family and despite a lifetime filled with obstacles, they held together and developed the strong bond that exist today.
He leaves his wife, of 43 years, Linda; his son, Shane and wife Melyssa; his daughters, Starr and Sarah; his grandchildren, Justus, Emilee, Hunter, Layla, Christopher, Lily and Gage; his sister, Sharon and husband Jerry Wright; his brother, Richard and wife Carmen Anderson; His niece, Tiffany and husband Tim Mattfeld; his nephew, Daniel Anderson; great niece and nephew, Victoria and Robert.
He was preceded in death by; his father, Aubrey Anderson; his mother, Ruth Patterson Anderson; his brother, Mark Anderson.
Visitation for Philip will be held at the Advantage Howard-Glendale Chapel 1015 Federal Rd. Houston, TX 77015 on Sunday, April 24, 2016 from 4:00pm-9:00pm. The celebration of life service will also be held at the Advantage Howard-Glendale Chapel on Monday, April 25, 2016 at 10:00am with interment to follow at Forest Park Lawndale.
