

Phil grew up with his two siblings John and Manuela. He graduated from Cotulla High School and attended Drauhanes Business College. Phil then joined the U.S. Army, climbing the ranks to captain.
In 1971, Phil married Betty Amador. Together, they made their life in Katy where they enjoyed their family and hobbies. Phil took joy in fishing, hunting, yard work, and visiting casinos. He was also the President of the International Good Neighbor Council.
Phil was preceded in death by his son, Richard; brother, John.
Left to cherish his memory, is his wife, Betty; son Philip Gonzales, wife Genevieve, daughter Belinda Ramos, daughter, Yvette Webb, husband James; grandchildren Rachel, Claire, Catherine, and Allana; great grandchildren Jocelyn, Julie, Jaxen and Josh. Phil’s dog Prince, will also miss him.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Shriner’s Burn Hospital for Children in Galveston.
The family wished to thank the staff at The Villa Assisted Living and Memory Care and also the caregivers at Accredited Hospices of America.
