

Philip was born in Vacherie, Louisiana on July 10th, 1930 to Philip Louis Hubbell, Sr. and Cecile Laiche Hubbell.
Philip served active duty in the United States Army during the Korean War where he was wounded in combat. He was the recipient of many awards and medals including the Silver Star, Bronze Star, and Purple Heart.
After being discharged from the Military, Philip studied at the John McCrady Art School and the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts. He spent the majority of his career in sales and marketing for the printing and advertising industries. Upon his retirement, Philip continued his passion for watercolor painting and had shows in several galleries in the New Orleans and St. Tammany areas. He was a signature member of the Watercolor Society in several states.
Philip was preceded in death by his parents Philip and Cecile Hubbell and his brother Charles. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Ersalene Mullen Hubbell; son Louis Hubbell and wife Darcy; daughter Amy Hubbell Smith; grandchildren Philip Hubbell, Joshua Hubbell, and Jessica Smith. He also leaves behind his sisters Marie Louise Frilot (Barry), and Cecile Blanchard; and brothers James Hubbell (Rose), Dr. Gerald Hubbell (Geraldine), and sister in law Cheryl Hubbell. Philip is also survived by many treasure nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Philip’s life by gathering for a memorial service Saturday January 28th, 2017 at 1 pm at St. Peters United Methodist Church, 20775 Kingsland Blvd. Katy, TX 77450.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be made in Philip’s memory to The Wounded Warrior Project at woundedwarriorproject.org.
