Phillip had an early love of cars as he helped his Uncle Sam who lived next door in his auto repair shop. Later in life he bought the car of his dreams – a 1972 Oldsmobile Cutless Cierra Super Sports with a vinyl top. He loved this car and sold it in 2023 to an Antique Car Dealer.
Phillip attended Missouri City Schools and graduated in 1957. After graduation he attended night school at the University of Houston, where he majored in drafting. Phillip received his degree and went to work for M W Kellogg in the Galleria area. He had many friends there and they kept in contact throughout the years.
Phillip was a member of the United States Army National Guard, the Draftsman Association and Holy Family Catholic Church.
When he was younger he was a member of the Young Houstonian Club and together as a group, they traveled to many places like Los Vegas, Hawaii, Mexico.
Phillip was preceded in death by his father, Frank, who passed in 1996 and his mother, Mary who died in 2006. He is survived by his sister and caretaker, Sadie. His nieces, Debra Bennett and husband Kevin, Jennifer Mitchell and husband Kevin, his nephew, Mark Williams and wife Dawn.
Other survivors include his grand nephews, Zachary Bennett and Matthew Mitchell and also his grand nieces, Morgan Bennett, Macie Cawood and Madyson Williams. He will also be missed by his very caring neighbors Jody and Teri Court and their children.
