Prudence graduated from Newburyport High School. She received a BA in education from Springfield College and a masters of arts in education from Incarnate Word University.
She married Peter Samuel Montgomery on August 12, 1961.
Prudence had a career in education for 40 years as a Teacher and Librarian. She had a passion for reading and volunteered at the school libraries for many years after retirement.
She is survived by her son David Daniel Montgomery; daughter-in-law Kelley Montgomery; grandsons Pierce Montgomery and Merritt Montgomery; twin sister Patience Campbell and brother Isaac Raymond Webster II.
