Rachel Medrano

June 22, 1954March 20, 2021

The world lost our beloved Rachel "Rachey" Medrano, 66, unexpectedly on Saturday, March 20, 2021. Born to parents, Richard and Zoila Robles, on June 22, 1954 in Houston, Texas, Rachel was a lifelong Texan who loved her family dearly.

When Rachel was diagnosed with CML Leukemia in 1984, she was given only 6 months to live. At that time, Rachel was devastated that she would have to leave behind her family and friends, especially her young children. She feared missing them growing up to graduate, marry and having children. With God's blessings and family support, Rachel fought and survived to see beyond what she could have ever imagined.

Rachel is survived by her loving parents Richard and Zoila Robles, brothers, Felix Robles, Richard Robles and wife Vicki, sister Cynthia and husband Carlos Gutierrez. Daughters, Christina and husband Gary Hemeyer, Anna and husband Clive Wright, Lisa and husband Richard Hernandez and son Anthony Medrano and wife Wendy. Grandchildren, Kamran, Kaileigh, Ethan, Renay, Garrett, Juliet, Emory, Christian, Ayden, Emma, Bailey, Isaiah, Ryan, AJ, Mallory and Vivian. Nieces and Nephews, Tara and Jose Cruz, Nick and Jacquiline Robles, Jessica and Alex Silva, Vanessa McCullah, Danielle Robles. Several great-Nieces and great-Nephews, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and life long Friends. She will forever live in our heart and may we all carry her fighting spirit with us.

A visitation for Rachel will be held Tuesday, March 30, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo, 4136 Broadway St., Houston, TX 77087. A rosary service will occur Tuesday, March 30, 2021 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo - Broadway

I sit here reminiscing; you were an incredible person, Rach. Your love, grace, and personality touched so many. We shared secrets, memories, and craziness for 57 years. I will keep my part of promises made. Enjoy greeting family and friends as you walk among the angels. Please put in a good word for me, Lord knows I need it. Remember to meet me at the gate, and don't forget! Jon and Tommie send their love.

Love and miss you, Rach.

Aunt Rachie,
I am so glad you were able to meet my baby. Every time he smiles and laughs out of nowhere I will know that he is playing with his aunt Rachie. I will keep all of our memories close to my heart. I will never forget you or your crazy phone calls. I love you and I wish so badly we would have been able to see you more but I know the time we had together was special. I’m going to keep fighting and being strong for my baby just like you told me to do. I know you did the same for your kids and grandkids and we are all so proud of you. You did so good. You won. Save us a spot in Heaven and put in a good word for all your crazy family ... just in case Jesus needs a little convincing to let some of us in hehe. Love you so much.

I will miss our daily calls and your million questions! But I know you are with me and watching over me and your grand babies. Please watch over grandma and grandpa and everyone else, until we meet again, give Jesus a hug for me and tell Wella, Melissa, Grandpa Frank and Grandma Janie I send my love. I hope you can hang with Elvis and dance the night away!!
