Ramiro Rodriguez Serna, 83, of Humble, Texas, passed away on April 20, 2026. He was born in Reynosa, Tamaulipas on September 23, 1942, to parents Raul Rodriguez Escobar and Maria de Los Angeles Serna. He met Elva Almaguer in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico, and married on December 10, 1966.
Ramiro worked as a machinist for 15 years at Brown Line and retired from Hydrotex at 62. Ramiro loved his family more than anything. Especially his wife of almost 60 years. Ramiro was known for his fun loving, joke telling personality. He loved dancing and enjoyed being outside. Ramiro was an outstanding father who did not believed in yelling. He always listened to your side first to understand why things happened the way they did. He was hard working and a great provider. To us, there will never be another like him.
He was preceded by his mother, Maria de Los Angeles Serna; father, Raúl Rodriguez Escobar; sister, Rebecca Rodriguez de Guerra; brother, Florentino Rodriguez Serna.
He is survived by his wife, Elva Rodriguez; daughter, Elisa Rodriguez-Valdez (Pablo Valdez); son, Ramiro Rodriguez (Karen Rodriguez); granddaughters, Hallie Michelle Garcia, and Joselyn Alexis Valdez; grandsons, Bryce Austin Rodriguez, and Barret Andrew Rodriguez.
Serving as pallbearers are Ramiro Rodriguez, Jr., Pablo Valdez, Bryce Austin Rodriguez, Barret Andrew Rodriguez, Agustin Carvajal, and Julio Cesar Olivares, Jr.
Visitation will be held at Brookside Funeral Home, Grand Oak Chapel, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039, on April 24, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, followed by the Funeral Service at Brookside Funeral Home, Grand Oak Chapel, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
A Committal Service will take place at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039, US, on April 24, 2026, from 11:00 am to 11:30 am.
