

Nacido el 2 de Noviembre de 1935, en San Fernando, Tamaulipas, México, era hijo de Guadalupe Martínez Martínez y Herminia Ochoa Cantú de Martínez (ambos fallecidos). Le sobreviven sus hermanos Guadalupe, Juan y Óscar Ochoa Martínez, y se recuerda a sus hermanos fallecidos: Cirilo, Fredesvinda "Vinda" e Ignacio. Ramón se caso con Lidia Villarreal el 18 de Septiembre de 1955.
Obtuvo el título de Contador Público en México y trabajó anteriormente como reportero para el periódico "El Bravo". Tras mudarse a los Estados Unidos, trabajó en diversas áreas de la construcción, destacándose su labor en Texas Forge. Residió durante 53 años en el número 700 de la calle Jewett, en Houston, Texas.
Disfrutaba remodelar su casa y dedicarse a la jardinería simpre junto a lado de su esposa Lidia y contando con la ayuda de sus hijos. De fe Cristiana, fue bautizado en la Iglesia de Cristo de Denver Harbor por el hermano Avelino Rangel y fue miembro de diversas congregaciones de La Iglesia de Cristo.
Le sobreviven sus hijos: Jorge H. Martínez; Alma Leticia Martínez De La Torre (esposo fallecido, Enrique); José Armando V. Martínez; Mario Alberto Martínez (esposa Alicia); David V. Martínez; Víctor Hugo Martínez (esposa Nita Fay); Lydia "Lily" Martinez de Elizondo (esposo Manuel) así como los fallecidos Ramón V. Martínez, Óscar V. Martínez y Víctor Hugo Martínez (el bebito). Tuvo 19 nietos y numerosos bisnietos.
Ramón tenía un buen corazón, ayudaba a desconocidos, se sentía orgulloso de su ciudadanía de los Estados Unidos y inculcaba el patriotismo a su familia. Poseía una gran fe en Dios y buscaba Su guía, esforzándose siempre por ser un buen padre y esposo. Se extrañará profundamente a sus hijos especialmente a su quierida esposa Lidia que lo adoraba con todo su corazon. En paz descanse Papá.
Ramon Ochoa Martinez, 90, died in his home of 53 years on August 3, 2026, with his wife and children by his side on Santa Lydia Day.

Ramon married Lidia Villarreal on September 18, 1955. He earned a Certified Public Accountant degree in Mexico and previously worked as a newspaper reporter for “El Bravo.” After moving to the U.S., he worked in various areas of construction, notably at Texas Forge. He resided at 700 Jewett in Houston, Texas, for 53 years.
He enjoyed remodeling his home and gardening with his wife Lidia, with the help of their children. Ramon was of Christian faith, baptized at the Church of Christ in Denver Harbor by Hermano Avelino Rangel, and extended his membership to various congregations.
He is survived by his children: Jorge H. Martinez; Alma Leticia Martinez De La Torre (deceased husband Enrique); Jose Armando V. Martinez; Mario Alberto Martinez (wife Alicia); David V. Martinez; and Victor Hugo Martinez (wife Nita Fay), Lydia “Lily” Martinez Elizondo (husband Manuel), as well as the late Ramon V. Martinez, Oscar V. Martinez, and Victor Hugo V. Martinez. He has 19 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Ramon had a good heart, offered help to strangers, was proud of his American citizenship, and emphasized patriotism to his family. He had great faith in God and sought His guidance, always striving to be a good father and husband. He will be missed tremendously by his children even even more by his lovely wife. Papa will be missed.
