

Ramona Mae Adams was born on August 6, 1942. She spent her childhood in Arizona, California and Washington State. Mona was trained as a seamstress at the Arizona Children’s Colony and moved to Houston in the mid 60’s. Mona was employed by several families needing child care and domestic services.
Mona was a longtime member of St. Philip’s United Methodist Church, joining November 12, 2006 and immediately found a place for herself when she joined the Other Adult Sunday School Class and the Tuesday Afternoon Bible Study. Mona joined the Night Circle of the United Methodist Women and switched to the Day Circle when she didn’t want to be out at night. In 2011 Mona received the Special Mission Recognition Pin by the Day Circle for her dedication and help with the annual Bazaar. Mona, along with Stephanie Howard founded the Knit and Crochet Class at Bayland Park about 4 or 5 years ago.
Mona leaves behind a family of good friends that she referred to as “her angels”. In lieu of flowers, a request for donations be made to St. Philip’s United Methodist Church for Family Fun Days, a ministry focusing on community outreach.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for 1:00 pm , Saturday February 16, 2019 at St. Philip’s United Methodist Church 5501 Beechnut Blvd. Houston, TX 77096.
