

Ramona Jane Petrosky passed away peacefully at her home in Cypress, Texas on Friday, November 26, 2021 at 81 years of age. The day she passed was the day after Thanksgiving and was also her 62nd wedding anniversary. Ramona entered into holy matrimony with her husband Adam Edmond Petrosky on November 26, 1959 (Thanksgiving Day) in Birmingham Alabama.
Ramona was born on December 4, 1939 in Birmingham, Alabama and given the name Ramona Jane O’Loughlin by her father Maurice Ignatius O’Loughlin and her mother Louise Jeanine O’Loughlin.
Ramona grew up in Birmingham, Alabama and graduated from John Carroll Catholic High School. After graduating she worked at Gordons’ Jewelers and Sears, Roebuck & Co in Birmingham. Ramona met her future husband Adam Petrosky in Birmingham in 1957 and they married at The Cathedral of St. Paul Catholic Church in Birmingham on November 26, 1959. They lived for about two years in Birmingham and then moved to Houston, Texas. Ramona spent the remainder of her life living in Houston with her husband Adam. They had one son Frank Brendan Petrosky born in Houston. They moved to a house in Timbergrove Manor in 1971 when their son Frank was about 2 years old. They lived in this house for about 35 years until to 2006.
Ramona and her husband Adam were also self-employed for many years as the owner of three different restaurant establishments which were the Hickory Kart Barbecue (1965-1967), Adam’s Sirloin (1972-1977) and Frank’s Deli (1977 to 1989).
When not working Ramona enjoyed traveling with family and friends to see new places.
Ramona and Adam were members of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in the Garden Oaks area of Houston for many years and frequently attended mass with their son Frank.
Ramona was Irish and very proud of it. Her favorite color was green which is one of the colors of the Irish flag and she also had the Irish gift of the gab. She liked to talk and was very good at it.
In 2006 Ramona and Adam moved to Cypress, Texas to a home in Ravensway. Then they moved again in 2009 to a final home in Ravensway South.
Ramona was a fighter to the very end. She held on to life to make it through Thanksgiving Day and she exited this life to eternal rest and peace on the day she married her husband Adam 62 years prior.
Ramona is preceded in death by her father Maurice Ignatius O’Loughlin, her mother Louise Jeanine O’Loughlin and her sister Joan Marie O’Loughlin Hastings. Ramona is survived by her husband Adam Petrosky and son Frank Petrosky both of Cypress, Texas. Ramona is also survived by her brother Maurice “Buddy” O’Loughlin of Birmingham, Alabama and numerous nephews and nieces.
Ramona’s son Frank would like to give special thanks and acknowledgment to Shirley and Richard Kaucher, Jerry and Betty Dorcz and Leonard and Sharon Tomczak for all of their help in coordinating this funeral. Also Ramona’s husband Adam and son Frank would like to acknowledge and give great thanks to the gentlemen who have honored our wife and mother Ramona by being pallbearers. Thank you very much to Jason Kaucher, Leonard Tomczak, Ryan Tomczak, Andrew “Junior” Januhowski, Marion “Butch” Tomczak and Michael Ognowski. We would also like to acknowledge our honorary pallbearers: Jerry Dorcz, Stanley Januhowski, Edmond Januhowski, Charles Worchesik and Richard Kaucher. We would also like to thank Sharon Tomczak and Jerry Dorcz for doing the readings at the funeral mass.
