Ramona Madrigal Salinas

Ramona was the third child born to parents, Macario & Adelina G. Madrigal on October 29th, 1932 in Beeville, Texas.

Mama Ramona was a strong, hardworking, passionate woman that took care of all her family the best she could. She was a forgiving mother/grandmother too. She had been retired since 1995, where she had worked 10+ years as a housekeeper for Holiday Inn– Houston Hobby. When she wasn’t working– she was the guardian of her 3 grandchildren that she dearly loves. Providing for her family gave her a great pleasure, even though she made greater sacrifices to put the family first before herself. She was a true, headstrong fighter for her family, no matter wrong or right. She loved us all through her final day. The best that we can remember her is how she always said, “Make sure that you pay your bills first and then if there is any money left –it’s yours to spend.” Also, she was adamant of being prepared for the future- to invest in life insurance. This will stay engraved in our hearts & minds as they were from her words of wisdom.

Now, Mama Ramona is home with her family; leaving the surviving family: Daughter, Mary Ann Pettit and husband Don Pettit; Grandson, Shawn Eric Salinas; granddaughter, Denica Michelle Chabolla; grandson, Joei Andrew Salinas; brother, Juan Madrigal; cousin, Frances "Panchita" Flores; her beloved companion, Pipi– who never left her side. Visitation, Wednesday, March 1, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Advantage Howard Glendale Funeral Chapel, 1015 Federal Rd. Houston, Tx 77015. A Chapel Service will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 12:00 pm at the Advantage Howard Glendale Funeral Home . Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 pm at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale Houston, Texas 77023.
