Randall Ray Gipson, 73, of Baytown, TX went to his Heavenly home on October 19, 2026. He was born in Tomball, TX on February 25, 1953 to parents Randall and Carol Gipson. Ray graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown, TX and received a Bachelor's degree from Baylor University in Accounting. Ray had a career in Accounting in the oil and gas industry for many years. In his free time, he had a passion for landscaping and sports.
A devoted father, a loving and proud grandfather, and a man of unwavering loyalty, Ray leaves behind a legacy defined by his deep love for family, his strength through adversity, and his steadfast commitment to the morals and values that guided his life. He was a man who believed in standing firm in what he believed was right and meeting life’s challenges with determination and resilience. Through his example, he taught his children the importance of family, the beauty of music, and an appreciation for history and family genealogy. These lessons, along with the values he instilled, will continue to live on through the generations that follow him.
His presence was unforgettable, especially his unmistakable laugh one that could be recognized from three rooms away and brought a familiar warmth to those around him. He found countless hours of joy in landscaping and meticulously caring for his yard, taking pride in every detail and creating something beautiful through his own hard work and dedication. Some of his happiest memories were made during his annual fishing trips with Oscar, cheering on his favorite teams—the Dallas Cowboys, Houston Astros, and Baylor Bears—and gathering with family. These moments reflected the things he treasured most: tradition, companionship, and the people he loved.
Above all, he was a father who loved deeply and a grandfather who took great pride in his grandchildren. His love, loyalty, laughter, and enduring strength will remain woven into the lives of those who knew him best. Though he will be deeply missed, the legacy he leaves behind will continue through his children, grandchildren, and the generations to come.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Randall and Carol Gipson, and his brother, Larry Wayne Gipson. He is survived by his daughter Shonna Gipson Nobles, her husband Rex Nobles, and their two children Patrick and Ethan Nobles; his son, Michael Gipson; his sister, Lori Ellis and her husband, Lyn Ellis; his niece Jennifer Thompson and her family; his nephew Jared Ellis and his family; his aunt, Karen Fanestiel; and many beloved cousins.
