

After 57 wonderful years Ray Martin Bozarth, Jr. of Houston, passed away on October 25, 2011. He was born in Lockhart, Texas, on June 3, 1954, to the late Ray and Frances Bozarth. He is survived by his wife, Susan Hague Bozarth, sons, Ray “Trey” Martin III and Carl Travis, and stepsons, Christopher and Kevin Kiniry, sisters, Betsy McKean and husband Ronnie and Nell Sanchez and husband James. He graduated from Lockhart High School in 1972. While in high school, "Marty" excelled at football, playing linebacker and fullback. He went on to attend Blinn College in Brenham. In 1976, he moved to Houston and began a successful career as a salesman in the oil field tool business. After working at Bowen Tools for 10 years, he attained the position of regional sales manager. He continued his professional career working for Canfish and Smith Services/Schlumberger.
Ray was a thoughtful and loving husband, dad, brother, and friend. Most recently, he became "Grandpa" to his only grandchild, Ray Martin Bozarth, IV. All that knew him would agree that he lived life to the fullest. Ray enjoyed the outdoors especially hunting, fishing and golfing with family and friends. He was also known as a great cook and would be the first to say he loved to eat. Ray never met a stranger. He had friends far and wide. He was known for his sense of humor and always had a new joke to tell. Ray had the ability to tell a story or joke like no other.
Ray was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church and the Fairbanks #1363 Masonic Lodge. Many charities benefited from Ray’s generosity ranging from United World Mission to Moulton Jamboree Pie Baking Contest to Northwest Harris County Aggie Moms’ Club.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any of the above mentioned charities or one of your choice.
There will be a visitation Oct. 26th from 6-8 pm at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy, TX 77079.
The funeral will be held at Grace Presbyterian Church (Chapel), 10221 Ella Lee Lane, (off of Sam Houston Tollway and Westheimer) on Thursday Oct. 27th at 10:00 am.
The burial service will be at Live Oak Cemetery outside of Austin in Buda, Texas. Burial will be at 4 pm Thursday, Oct. 27th. To reach the cemetery from IH 35 near Buda, go west on Main Street to the First set of lights (Old San Antonio Road). Turn Right (north) and follow Old San Antonio Road, toward Austin (est. 2 miles) to Twin Creeks Road (in Travis Co.) Turn LEFT (west) and go .2 miles; cemetery is on the right.
