Captain Raymond J. Fincher passed away after a brief illness with his beloved wife, Carolyn, by his side. They enjoyed a life of adventure and travel. He was affectionately known as Cappy to his grandchildren. Captain Fincher served with pride in the United States Navy and extended his maritime career by becoming a Merchant Marine, a Panama Canal Ship Pilot, and a Houston Ship Pilot, Retired. He attended Greater Life Church in Friendswood and was a member of the Houston Yacht Club and the Houston Pilots Association. He enjoyed sailing, skiing, scuba diving, and traveling. He was an avid history buff and enjoyed staying abreast of current affairs. The Captain was born in Chattanooga, TN and was preceded in death by his mother, Sarah Moss Hixon and father, Raymond M. Fincher. He is survived by his wife and extended family. Services to be held at Brookside Funeral Home and interment to follow at Brookside Memorial Park. Those who wish may make donations to Wounded Warriors, a cause very dear to his heart.
