

RAYMOND ALFONS PETTER entered into eternal rest on March 1, 2010. Raymond was born August 17, 1943 in Abbott, TX to the late Edward John and Helen Veronica Petter. He graduated from Abbott High School. He attended college in Corsicana, TX. He served four years in the United States Marine Corps and is a Vietnam veteran. He received a Good Conduct Medal, Viet Nam Service Medal and National Defense Service Medal. Upon his return from the Marines, he joined the Sprinkler Fitters Union 669. He also served as Tutor Proctor for the Union's Apprenticeship Program for several years. He retired from construction work in 1998 but returned to work as Safety Coordinator for HG Fire Systems. While working in the field, he installed the fire protection system in the Lunar Lab at NASA, the Nuclear Plant in Angleton, TX, Bank of America Center downtown and other landmarks in the area as well as general construction. He was a long time resident of Houston, Texas. He was an avid reader, enjoyed golf and loved his pets. He is survived by his loving, devoted wife of 32 years, Hilda Gonzalez Petter; a devoted son, Raymond Jr.; brother Edward Petter (Betty) from McQueeny TX; sister Joyce Nors from West TX; brother in-law, Juan Antonio Gonzalez (Laura); uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be a visitation from 6 - 8:30 P.M. with a Wake/Rosary service at 7:00 P.M, Friday, March 5, 2010 in the Chapel at Pat H. Foley & Co. The funeral service will be at 10:00 A,M, on Saturday, March 6, 2010 in the Pat H. Foley & Co. Chapel with Rev. Jeff Reed officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to the American Cancer Society , 7707 Fannin, Houston, TX 77054 or the SPCA, 900 Portway Drive, Houston, TX 77024 in Raymond's honor.
