

He was a beloved husband, father, Papaw, and brother, and passed into the arms of our Lord at the age of 91. He is survived by his daughters, Kathryn Wagner and Penny Dodd (David). His grandchildren, Krista Hollandsworth, Amanda Krainz (Justin), Caroline Stephens (Austin), and Alex Dodd (Hannah). His great-grandchildren JJ Krainz, Charlotte and Brooks Stephens and Hampton Dodd and his sister, Jodi Muenker as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and beloved friends. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Barbara, and his brother Donald Wagner, and his ex-wife Shirley Wagner (mother of his children).
He enlisted in the Navy as a Reservist on September 11, 1957, and retired on April 18, 1996.
Raymond started his career at Standard Oil and after multiple company name changes, retired from ExxonMobil in 1985 after more than 30 years. He started a new career in March of 1990 with Walmart and retired after 30 years.
Being a Razorback by birth, Raymond was a devoted “Hog” fan, and he let everyone know about it.
Raymond adored life, talking with people, and truly listening to them. He loved serving Jesus and sharing the gospel with others.
He was a sweet, kind, and genuine man and an incredible role model.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, in the Chapel at Houston’s First Baptist Church, 7401 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77024.
