Rebeca Henao

Rebeca Henao partió a su hogar celestial el sábado 4 de julio de 2026. Tenía 95 años de edad. Nació el 20 de septiembre de 1930 en Chihuahua, México, hija de Rufino Valdez y Agripina Martínez. Fue la tercera de seis hermanos y le precedieron en la muerte sus padres y sus cinco hermanos: Sara, Beatriz, Rafael, José y Tabi Valdez.

Rebeca contrajo matrimonio con su amado esposo, Camilo Antonio Henao, el 10 de octubre de 1970, y juntos tuvieron una hija, Nidya Pérez.

A Rebeca le sobreviven su hija, Nidya (Eduardo) Pérez; sus tres nietos, Yoel, Alejandro y Aarón Pérez, a quienes amó profundamente; así como varios sobrinos y sobrinas, la mayoría de los cuales residen en México. Uno de sus mayores gozos en sus últimos meses de vida fue saber que sería bisabuela. Aunque no llegó a conocer a su primer bisnieto, atesoró con gran alegría la noticia de que Alejandro y su esposa, Kaitlyn Slean, esperaban un bebé.

El mayor legado de Rebeca fue inculcar en su familia la verdad de que Jesucristo es el único y suficiente Salvador. Como dice Jesús en Juan 14:6: «…Yo soy el camino, y la verdad, y la vida; nadie viene al Padre sino por mí». Rebeca fue una líder en su iglesia y apreciada maestra de Escuela Dominical durante la mayor parte de su vida adulta.

La familia expresa su más profunda gratitud a todos aquellos que amaron a Rebeca y fueron parte de su caminar por la vida. Nos regocijamos al saber que ella está en la presencia de su Señor y Salvador, y hallamos consuelo en la promesa de que un día volveremos a verla.

Rebeca Henao entered her heavenly home on Saturday, July 4, 2026. She was 95 years old. She was born on September 20, 1930, in Chihuahua, Mexico, to Rufino Valdez and Agripina Martinez. She was the third of six children and was preceded in death by her parents and five siblings: Sara, Beatriz, Rafael, José, and Tabi Valdez.

Rebeca married her beloved husband, Camilo Antonio Henao, on October 10, 1970, and together they had one daughter, Nidya Perez.

Rebeca is survived by her daughter, Nidya (Eduardo) Perez; her three grandsons, Yoel, Alejandro, and Aaron Perez, whom she dearly loved; and several nieces and nephews, most of whom live in Mexico. One of her greatest joys in her final months was learning that she would become a great-grandmother. Although she did not live to meet him, she treasured the knowledge that Alejandro and his wife, Kaitlyn Slean, were expecting a baby boy.

Rebeca’s greatest legacy was instilling in her family the truth that Jesus Christ is the one and only Savior. As Jesus says in John 14:6, “…I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” She was a strong leader and a sought-after Sunday School teacher throughout most of her adult life.

The family expresses immeasurable gratitude to all who loved Rebeca and were part of her life's journey. We rejoice in knowing that she is in the presence of her Lord and Savior and find comfort in the promise that we will one day see her again.

A committal service will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home & Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77077, US, on July 13, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
