Born on June 22, 1951 in Houston, Texas to Eliseo and Frances Rodriguez. Rebecca lived a life rooted in her Christian faith. Her love for God shaped the way she lived and cared for others with thoughtfulness, generosity, and a sincere concern for the people in her life.
Rebecca was a quiet, studious child who preferred spending her time indoors with a good book to running and playing outside. Her love of reading only deepened over the years, reflected in the many books she collected and cherished throughout her life.
Rebecca retired after more than 40 years as a secretary at Shell Oil Company, bringing her sharp mind and attention to detail to the legal department in her later years.
Rebecca was a woman of grace and style, always beautifully put together and proper in the most endearing way. She appreciated lovely things and had an eye for the small details that made them special. A devoted estate sale enthusiast and master collector of table art, she delighted in discovering treasures. Her beloved blue-and-white porcelain and carefully collected little knickknacks reflected her distinctive taste. She also found joy in tending to her garden, caring for its many plants and flowers.
Her sense of adventure took her far beyond home. Beginning her international travels in 1987, Rebecca visited at least 24 countries, embracing the opportunity to experience the world and its beauty. Her life held both the excitement of faraway places and the simple pleasure of finding something special close to home.
Quietly private, Rebecca formed deep and meaningful connections, showing her care through thoughtful gestures without seeking recognition. She was an active member of Houston’s First Baptist Church and enjoyed bible studies, exercise classes, and fellowship groups throughout the Christian community. Those who knew her were blessed by her conversation, her kindness, and the love she shared.
Rebecca has been reunited with her parents and her brother Eliseo, Jr. in Heaven, who she missed dearly.
She leaves to cherish her memory her brothers, Arthur Rodriguez, Richard Rodriguez and wife, Jody; Humberto Rodriguez and wife, Cheryl; her sister, Christine Babcock and husband, Michael; and her sister-in-law, Carmela Rodriguez. She was a beloved aunt, great-aunt, and great-great-aunt to many nieces and nephews. She will also be dearly missed by her church family, cherished friends, and the many social groups she enjoyed.
Her family will remember her deep faith, her adventurous spirit, her elegance, and her generous heart. They find comfort in knowing that she is home with the Savior she loved so deeply.
A visitation will be held on Friday, November 6, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway at Lauder Road, Houston, Texas. A chapel service will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by burial at noon. Family and friends are invited to a reception at Brookside from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
