She is survived by her brothers, Thomas and David (Linda) Rodriguez; her sisters, Rachel (Rafael Sr.) Tirado and Sarah Segelke She is also survived by her grandson; Joseph Michael Trujillo and granddaughters; Lily Trujillo (Armando) Solorzano III and Egypt Gary Glasper Trujillo. She didn't get to meet her great granddaughter Imogen Xochitl Solorzano but would have loved her. She had numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was a member of El Mesias Methodist Church all her life attending Sunday services and many church events. She finished Marshall Junior High 9th grade but didn’t get to attend Jefferson Davis High school (now known as Northside high school)
Always a hard worker, First in the late 1970’s she worked for a local Pipe Manufacturing Company on Seamist Dr. and later in the mid 1980’s began working for the City of Houston along with 2 of her brothers. She worked in Public Works Traffic & Transportation Dept. for almost 30 years. There she made street signs and was meticulous in making sure they were spelled correctly. She worked there until her retirement in 2013.
Married only a short time to her son’s dad Miguel. She had a beautiful son and her nickname for him was Miguelito who was the love of her life. He gave her so many happy times and 3 beautiful grandchildren and one great grandchild. To her grandchildren she was known as “Nana”. She took every opportunity to see them and help take part in all their activities. Rebecca stayed around Northside all her life and in later years lived with her sister Angelina and brother Tommy. She loved watching the Houston Astros - especially with her siblings.
Becca loved watching all types of movies - horror, action, comedies and especially mysteries. She also loved game shows, never wanting to be interrupted while watching her daily Price is Right. She loved family gatherings, playing Limon League, eating BBQ, and singing In-Concerts with her family. Her son Miguelito sang and played the guitar on many occasions. She was so proud of him.
Becca had a beautiful smile. Anytime you described her - you remember her smile.
Her favorite pets were turtles. Most of the time if she saw them walking slowly by a ditch or road; she would rescue them. She loved them and had several different ones over the years. She also had a green thumb and grew many pencil cactus plants for family and friends. She had the magic touch with all her plants. We remember seeing greenery everywhere around her yard and porch wherever she lived.
May she rest in peace with our Lord and we know she is with all her loved ones.
