

He lived a life of meaningful service. He volunteered at several Church pantries, community gardens and Multi-Purpose Centers.
Refugio enjoyed the outdoors, visiting different people and places, as well as keeping up on current events. Ask him to go on a road trip; he would be delighted and ready to go.
In his spare time, he could be found tending his garden. He grew vegetables, which he shared with various people. He also had fruit trees and roses. Yellow roses were his favorite.
Princess and Tabitah, (dogs), brought Refugio great pleasure. All three went for daily walks in the park. He loved his dogs and credited them with helping him stay active.
Faced with several significant health challenges; he maintained an incredible will to recover. After his many doctor visits he usually stopped to visit a friend or acquaintance who was homebound or in a nursing home. Rarely did he fail to take a small treat for them to enjoy.
Refugio was preceded in death by his parents, Ricardo ad Maria Ramirez, brothers, Pedro, (Pete), John and Fidel Ramirez.
He is survived by sisters, Teresa Ramirez, Mary Helen Lopez, Lupe Torres, brother, Anthony Ramirez, extended family and friends.
The family would like to express their gratitude and sincere appreciation for all the prayers, comforting messages and beautiful flowers extended at the time of Refugio’s death.
