Rena M Flores

She was born in Houston, Texas on May 23, 1944, to parents Alejando R. Martinez and Reynalda Diaz Martinez. She was widowed to Ruben C. Flores Jr and married for 48 years.

Rena had a career in Management in the Beauty Salon business for 32 years before she retired. Rena had a passion for beauty, the art of crafts, the green thumb with plants and the joy of spending time with her family. When she walked into a room, she was the Star, and her smile was so contagious. She always enjoyed having a good time, shopping at all her favorite stores (Ross-Home Goods-Walmart). She loved to go listen to live music and go to all the fall festivals. She was the oldest of 10 children and was the Matriarch of the family. She was a woman of faith and knew who her Lord and Savior was.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ruben C. Flores Jr. passed in 2008, her oldest daughter Suzanne Gonzales passed in 2022, her sister Mary Elizabeth Healy and her parents Alejandro & Reynalda Martinez.

She is survived by her children Ruben C. Flores III (Terry Flores), Debra Remaley (Shawn Remaley). She is also survived by grandchildren; Christina Day (Brett Day), Brianna Ramsey (Michael Shane Ramsey) and Brandon Flores. Great-grandchildren; Hadlyn Ramsey and Klancey Ramsey. Step-grandchild; Elizabeth Smith. Spiritual children; Dustin Sales (Santos Sales), Beloved friend; Marie Weatherford (John Weatherford) and Cecilia Weatherford. Immediate siblings; Carolyn Gibson, Sylvia Collier (Dale Collier), Sondra Garrett Israel (Leonard Israel), Linda Patino Flock (Dewey Flock), Alex Martinez (Sally Rojas), Valente Martinez (Lupita Martinez), Claude Martinez (Laura Coker), David Martinez (Martha Martinez) and multiple nieces and nephews.

She will be missed but NEVER forgotten.
