Oh my God! Her name came to me for some reason after all these years, and I looked her up and sadly found this.  Mrs Brock was my teacher at Horn School in Bellaire in the early '60's. I think it was third grade and I think I still have the class picture somewhere; which I will post if I find it.  i spent a year with her and was very fond of her. One thing I remember was that she had kind of a gravelly voice because she said that she ate a piece of dry ice when she was a kid and it did a little damage.  i recognized her from the picture here in an instant. My condolences to her family - she was a good person and I'm sure she is missed  

To the Brock family:  First, my heartfelt condolences to all of you for your loss.  Time and space limit my ability to convey how much I admire her, but I shall try. I was a 4th grade student of Mrs. Brock at Horn Elementary.  She was always - and will remain - the absolute BEST teacher I ever had!!  No doubt there are countless others who share my thoughts.  She will forever be "Mrs. Brock" to me.  Her passion was education; her gift was teaching.  I cannot even begin to imagine how many lives she touched as a teacher, let alone as a person.  To her family, please know I am eternally grateful for the privilege of having been one of her students.  May she rest in peace.

Mrs. Brock was my favorite teacher at Horn Elementary she made learning fun and easy. Thank you for teaching me and making going to school fun. R.I.P.

Rene was loved and appreciated by the women of the College Women's Club. We enjoyed having ice cream socials in her home. Her house was so wonderful and she was so welcoming. Everyone loved to sit and listen to her amazing stories.  Jo Ann Sanders

I was fortunate to have  Rene as a neighbor for over 20 years. We shared many recipes and great conversations.  It was nice to have someone nearby to borrow from when baking and suddenly realizing I was out of an ingredient.  She and I both did this frequently. I never had another neighbor I could do this with. Also she was a wonderful teacher to all of my kids. Ricky, you were most fortunate to have her as your Mom.

Mrs. Brock was a very special lady and a fantastic teacher.  My family was lucky enough to have the Brock's as neighbors for many years.  Mrs. Brock will be missed by all that knew her.  Prayers for her family and friends.
