Rene Marin Jr.

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Rene Marin Jr, age 92, who departed this life peacefully on May 23rd in Katy, Texas. Born of February 5th, 1934, he was the beloved child of Rene Marin Sr and Consuelo Garcia.

Rene Marin Jr, who loved to be called "Papi" by his grandchildren, lived a full life, working as an International Forwarder Agent at Elite International. Beyond his career. he was known for being a dedicated family man, devoted father, loving grandfather, and member of the Knights of Columbus with the Catholic Church. He possessed a keen intellect, evident in his love of reading and learning multiple languages, and his interest in baseball, soccer, and geography. His philanthropic endeavors reflected his compassionate and generous nature, as he donated to several charities.

Rene Marin Jr is survived by his daughter Gigi Transou and Marissa Olson, son-in-law Sam Olson, sister Hilda Ritchie, and grandchildren Travis Transou, Steven Transou, Alexander Olson, and Elizabeth Olson. He was preceded in death by his wife Sue Marin and his sister Olivia Adams.

A Funeral service will be held on June 8th at 10:30am at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 625 Nottingham Oaks Trail, Houston, TX 77079 followed by burial and reception at Memorial Oaks Cemetery - Chapel of the Oaks, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079.
