Rene Fernando Ortego

Rene F. Ortego was born February 17, 1941, in Houston, TX his parents Lino Ortega and Dora B. Navarrete. He was raised in Beeville, TX the oldest son of a family of five, siblings are Manual Navarrete Jr., Glady’s Navarrete Trejo, Roberto J. Navarrete, and Dora H. Villarreal. He joined the Air force in 1959 to 1963. On April 12, 1970, he married Maria A. Perez in Falfurrias, TX. They were blessed with an only child Veronica V. Ortego and grandson Benito R.R. Moralez. Rene was known for his extended generosity and his dedication to help his fellow man.

A visitation for Rene will be held Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel, 5100 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77022. A commital will occur Friday, January 28, 2022 from 9:45 AM to 10:00 AM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038. A funeral service will occur Friday, January 28, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Hidden Valley Church of Christ, 9521 Sunnywood Dr, Houston, TX 77038.
