Rev. Carmelitta Mariea Barard Dobard was born May 21, 1963, to the late Alvin Moses Barard, Jr. and Barbara Clark Barard-Robinson in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was the eldest of the three children born to this union. She was also the step-daughter of the late Joe Edward Robinson. Carmelitta grew up in the church and excepted Christ at an early age. She worked for the Social Security Administration and Charity Hospital of New Orleans, Louisiana. She then relocated to the Washington, DC metropolitan area and worked as a contractor for the Department of Justice, Drug Enforcement Administration. After 27 years in the secular workforce she decided to start her own business as a Daycare owner for child development. While she loved children, she still had a deep stirring in her heart that God was calling her to do more for the needs of people. So after much schooling and training, she entered the medical field as a field nurse. It was the nursing field where she truly found the power of God working as she cared for the sick, disabled, and elderly. This became not just a career, but a divine order of God as she prayed for the healing and restoration of the people she cared for. It was the healing ministry where she saw the great and mighty miracles, signs, and wonders of God. Her love and caring heart of compassion for others certainly did not go unnoticed. God the Father rewarded her with the same exceptional quality of care during her period of illness and He even allowed her to express her special thanks and gratitude to Methodist Willowbrook Hospital Staff, Dr. Kapadia and staff of Texas Oncology, Ms Annie Elesby of Grace Care, Staff of Legend Nursing Facility, and Kindred Hospice Services. No matter the challenges or obstacles she had a DON'T QUIT, CAN'T QUIT Spirit, always had an encouraging word, bright smile for all those she came in contact with. And knew how to make you laugh. She truly lived up to her email address name: TouchedbyanAngel. She leaves to cherish her memories: her mother - Barbara Clark Barard-Robinson of Spring, TX; five children - Nefetari Dobard of Humble, TX, Nefatrice Parker (husband Jermaine) of College Station, TX, Sgt. Fenton Dobard, J. of Seattle, Washington., Larry Kenny, III, and Carmesha Kenny; three grandchildren - Isanaé Toms, Jer'Merriah, and Jer'Mayia; two siblings - Minister Lolithea Barard Davis (husband Gilbert) of Spring, TX, Alvon Moses Barard, III (wife Leslie) of Accokeek, MD and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
