RICHARD ANDERSEN, Jr. passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2017. He was born February 27, 1956, in Houston, Texas to Richard and Ellen Andersen, Sr. Rick grew up in Houston, Texas, and attended Westchester High School. Upon high school graduation, he attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock. In high school and college, when not working at the family business, Rick spent his free time at Point Venture, Texas teaching water skiing lessons and performing ski shows on Lake Travis or traveling to Denmark with his family. On one of his lake trips, he met his future wife, Linda Carter, who he married in 1989, starting a wonderful life together for 28 years. He also enjoyed traveling - especially exploring underwater scuba diving and beautiful beaches. Rick learned from his parents, no family request was too small or too large. If it could be done; he would make certain it was accomplished. The two passions is his life were his daughters, Elise and Nikky. Rick worked 42 years in the family-owned business Nielsen’s Delicatessen, which celebrates its 65th anniversary this year thanks to the dedicated employees and loyal customers.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Ellen Andersen. He is survived by his wife, Linda Carter Andersen and their children, Ellen Elise and Kristin Nicole (Nikky), his sisters: June Hailey (and her late husband, Roy) and Grace Edwards, nephews: Andrew and Niels Hailey, Jim and Joe Edwards, and niece: Laura Edwards. He is also survived by in laws: Fred and Barbara Carter, Matt and Donna Worley, Doak and Lexie Worley and many others. A private service will be at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home on Friday, March 31st, 2017.
