Richard Edwin Artusy, Sr. passed on November 19, 2014, with his family in attendance in Houston, TX. Richard was born on September 5, 1924 in Houston, TX to George and Barbara Artusy. Richard grew up in the Heights and graduated from John H. Reagan High School at the beginning of World War II. He joined the U.S. Navy in January 1943 and served aboard the USS Griffin as part of the seventh Fleet until 1947. As a civilian, Richard worked his whole life as a Railroader. Beginning as a messenger boy, Richard worked his way to become Vice President of Operations for the Western Pacific Railroad. With an early retirement, Richard and his wife Ginger were able to pursue their love of golf at the Kingwood Country Club. Being a veteran of the U.S. Navy, he naturally enjoyed going on cruises. He enjoyed nearly 50 cruises making ports of call all over the world. Richard is survived by his wife of 36 years, Ginger; sons: Richard of Lakehead, CA (Joy), Bob of El Sobronte, CA, James of Maumelle, AR (Debbie), and Tom of Ripon, CA (Lorrie); along with 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
