Richard Frederick Burgess

Richard F Burgess ,81, of Cypress, Texas, passed away Saturday, Jan 21, 2017 quietly with his wife and family by his side following a long illness.

Richard graduated from Port Byron High School in 1953 and obtained his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Syracuse University, 1974.

Richard was born in Stamford NY, the son of the late Clyde and Lucia Burgess. Beloved brother to Anne and Eric Burgess of New York.

Richard married high-school sweetheart Shirley Jean Farrell of Port Byron, NY in 1957 they enjoyed 59 years of marriage. He is survived by his four children; Richard F Burgess Jr JD, Yardley D Burgess, Dr. Deborah A Burgess, and Dawn M Reilley (Mark Reilley).

Richard’s greatest joy in life were his grandchildren Mary Bugaj (Josh Bugaj), Yardley (David) Burgess Jr (Colleen Burgess), Robert Adams III, and Erin Reilley. Great grandchildren Christopher Burgess, Ella Burgess, and Emily Bugaj.

Richard was an honored veteran of the Korean War 1954-1957 and will be interned in the Houston VA National Cemetery on Friday, January 27,2017 with full honor guard.
