OBITUARY

Richard Paul Compton

August 15, 1951March 8, 2018

Richard Paul Compton AKA “R.C.”, “Mr. Rich”, and “POP”, age 66, United States Army Veteran, of Montgomery Texas, passed away Thursday March 8, 2018.

R.C is the Son of George and Maxine Compton, beloved husband of 44 loving years to Dottie Compton (Wrona) who kindly put up with his love of music, the Houston Astros and the Chicago Blackhawks; Loving father of Uriah (Tara) Compton, Cindi (Scott) Maynard, and Amy Wrona. Brother of Nancy (Compton) Lewis and uncle to Jason (Lyndsey) Wrona, Chris Wrona and a host of others, who all enjoyed his kind, humorous, and life of the party nature; Proud grandfather of Seth Compton, Melissa (Maynard) Whittingham, Jake, Joe and McKenzie Maynard, Ethan and Knox Wrona, and great-uncle to Dylan and Cody Wrona, who will hopefully remember his playful nature and love for fun and games.

R.C. worked tirelessly day in and day out for each one of his 48 adult years. From the military, to the steel mills of Chicago, Allis Chalmers, and Minute Lube. His final 27 years of service were completed as a Quality Control Engineer for Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift America; which included 10 hour days and a 1 hour drive each way (uphill both ways). He worked hard, but he loved even harder, even if it was not always said. R.C. always strived to provide for family, friends, loved ones, and all the students/graduates of the New Life Woman’s Center. His dedication to God showed through his dedication to others. He was a hardworking and hard loving man, who cared deeply for those around him; simply being happy with enjoying the peacefulness of the country, a long ride on his Harley, or the feel of a 6lb bass on his pole.

Mr. Rich, thank you for everything, you will be forever in our hearts and never forgotten! Tell God and John Lennon we said hi!

I've known RC for many years. RC and I worked together in Quality at MCFA and as Crew Leader, he was, hands-down, my right-hand man. He worked tirelessly and always with the utmost level of integrity for doing the right thing. RC, however, was much more than that... he was a great human being who cared for everything and everyone. We have had several conversations about baseball and of course, his beloved Chicago Blackhawks. I am extremely saddened by the passing of such an amazing person, but I know heaven has gained a great soul and he is now home. RC, I will miss you dearly, my friend. Thank you for everything you've taught me and done for me. Keep smiling up there and we will meet again. Sincerely, Rick Fernandez

We received this message via email at MCFA yesterday and I wanted to be sure it was shared here:

".... informed me this morning of RC’s passing. I am the UL field engineer responsible for visiting your facility for UL inspections since 1999. Over the course of the last 19 years I have worked with RC often to complete UL inspections. RC was truly a champion for quality and always worked hard to ensure your trucks met not only the stringent MCFA quality requirements but also the UL requirements. There was never a task that RC’s wasn’t willing to take in order to satisfy UL & MCFA quality/safety criteria.

I also had the privilege of many personal conversations with RC. He truly cared about the people around him and was always willing to go the extra mile to help anyone in need. RC was funny, kind, caring, and overall one great guy. I will miss his wit and optimistic outlook on all life issues. He will be truly missed.

Kind Regards,

W. Tom Stone
Sr. Field Engineer
Southwest/Texas"

I had the great pleasure of working with R.C. during a GM project at MCFA. There were many challenges in that project but R.C. never failed to greet me with a warm smile and a "Hey, how's it going man?". We would gossip and get the work done, never a dull moment with him around. He made my work so much easier, I felt blessed to have him on my side. I can't stop thinking about your smiling face R.C. and can't believe that you're gone from this world. May GOD always bless you, please watch out for us from the heavens. RIP, my friend.

RC brought sunshine to everyone he meet.
Heaven has another angel watching over family and friends.
May God give family and friends Strength in body, Courage in Spirit and Patience with pain.
May the memories of RC fill the hearts of all that knew RC.
Spread your wings RC and fly.
God Bless

I had the pleasure of working with R.C. for my first 9 years at MCFA. I learned a lot from R.C. as he always took the time to explain a problem before he fixed them for me. He was a very generous man with his knowledge and time. I will always be so grateful that he was a part of my "work family". Thank you to his family for sharing him with us for so many years. I'm grateful God put a man like R.C. in my path to help teach me how to treat others. Prayers for his family and friends for healing and peace.
