

He was born in Houston on January 7, 1950, and was a proud Houstonian throughout his life. Richard graduated from the University of Houston where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry and also earned a Master’s Degree in Medicinal Chemistry.
During his time teaching in the College of Pharmacy he met his beloved wife, Judy, and they were married on January 1, 1977.
Richard enjoyed a career as a research chemist, developing specialty chemicals for the hydrocarbon processing industry with various petrochemical companies in the Houston area. He was an inventor with over 60 patents in his career.
He was passionate about family, world travel, and a better living through chemistry.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Judy; his son, Matthew Miller and his wife Evgeniya; his daughter, Meredith Lundin and her husband, Eric; his grandchildren Lincoln, Lawson, and Liam.
Funeral arrangements will be held at Brookside Funeral home on Tuesday, January 17, 2019 at 10:30am.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s research hospital in Richard’s name.
