

Richard was born and raised in Cairo, Egypt. After graduating from The American University in Cairo in 1976, he made his way to the States. He both loved and cherished his homeland of Egypt while putting his heart and soul into building a new life in Houston. And what an amazing journey it was! An incredible businessman with incredible friends and colleagues both in and out of the ground transportation industry. His passion was his work and love for his wife, Jennifer and most importantly his faith in Christ. He lived it the right way without regret and was grateful for all the friendships he made throughout his life.
He is preceded in death by his father, Samuel Guindy Mishriky and mother, Mongeda Abdel Messih Hanna. He is survived by his wife Jennifer Butler Mishriky and brother, Emad el Guindy, wife Nadia Nessim and their children Ramy Guindy and Sherif Guindy. He is survived by his sister, Hoda Guindy, husband Sherif Habib and their children Youssef Habib, Mariam Habib, and Mina Habib. Also survived by his brother-in-law, Mark Butler, wife Leah Butler and their children Michael Butler, Matthew Butler and Luke Butler and sister-in-law Laura Butler, mother-in-law Shirley Butler. A special mention to his surviving beloved cousin Shadia Isak, husband Mamdouh Isak and their children Michelle Kauffman and Stephanie Burnside. In addition, he leaves behind a multitude of close cousins, nieces, and nephews – Richard cherished and loved you all.
The pallbearers are Michael Butler, Matthew Butler, Luke Butler, Mina Habib, Josh Burnside, Mike Assaad, Nader Salah and Maher Salah.
A visitation for Richard will be held Wednesday, July 19, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079.
Church funeral service will be held Thursday, July 20, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church, 424 Mulberry Lane, Bellaire TX 77401.
A committal service will occur Thursday, July 20, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home.
