He was preceded in death by both parents; sister, Ruth Ann Purtill; and Elsie Purtill.
Richard is survived by his long time friend and loving companion, Pene Herbert; children, Angela Purtill, Mark Purtill, Lori Purtill Lane, Lisa Pratt-Purtill and Joel Purtill; five grandchildren, Riley, Maggie, Chelsea, Tyler and Kason; brothers, David Purtill and Dan Purtill; along with numerous other loving family and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2012, at 12:00 p.m., at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas, 77079.
