As a long time resident of the Houston area, Dick will be fondly remembered as a loving son, husband, and father as well as a dedicated friend and business associate.
Dick attended St. Thomas High School class of '65, University of Houston where he was a member of Delta Sigma Phi, and Sam Houston State for graduate school. He served in the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1976.
With a long career in the Energy industry that included Tenneco, TransCanada, Center Point Energy, and time as an Energy consultant, he was able to make many close relationships. He was actively involved in the Potential Gas Committee for 30 years, eventually serving as Chairman of the Board of Directors. He also taught courses at Houston Baptist University as an adjunct professor.
Dick is survived by his wife Judith Snyder, children Corinne & Karl Vornsand, Robin Snyder, Martin Snyder, Evan Snyder, and grandson Nathaniel Vornsand.
Dick was preceded in death by his mother and father Arthelia & EM Snyder and his sisters Barbara Snyder Robeau and Sandra Snyder Mondin.
Services will be held at Forest Park Westheimer on November 18, 2018 at 1pm. A time of gathering will be held following the funeral service.
