Clark was born February 11, 1964 to Richard C. Webb, Sr. and Sara “Sally” Slaton Webb in Houston, Texas. He joined Sally and Merlin on Thursday, March 21, 2019. We adored him from the day he was born.
Clark attended Memorial High School where he was active with the Wranglers and as a drummer in the Drum Corps. He attended Texas Tech University where he pledged Kappa Sigma and studied Landscape Architecture. He was a licensed Irrigator.
At a very young age, Clark would stand in the bay windows holding his blanket and would watch the workers mow the grass. He knew from that age he wanted to work outside. As a result, he started his own business at 16, which he called Clark Webb and Associates. He owned Diverse Irrigation for several years.
Taking after his father and grandfather, the blanket was replaced by a baseball bat. He was given the name “Tater” after getting out only once and averaging just under 1000 in T-Ball for the season.
Clark also played golf from a young age and would rather be out on the golf course than inside. He made friends throughout the PGA golfing community and often hosted tournament participants.
Some of his fondest memories were skiing with his family in Keystone, Colorado. He used those skills while at school in Maine, and was on the ski patrol. He also played soccer in Maine.
Throughout his life, he relished getting up early to enjoy the great outdoors and bird hunting. What started early on led to a lifetime love of dove and duck hunting, which inevitably led to humorous stories he told so well.
He leaves behind his father, Richard “Rit” Webb, his wife, Maggie, sister, Karen Paulson and husband Rich, Janice Webb Lavin and husband, Buddy, niece Kim Katopodis and partner, Jake Williamson, nephew, Eric Paulson and wife, Rachael, and niece, Lisa Slaton Paulson and her husband, Tim Gonzales, step-sister, Holly Harrison and her husband, James, his uncle, Harry C. Webb, Jr. and wife Diane, aunt, Fredna “Sue” Slaton Alter and her husband, Adrian and several cousins, grandnieces and grandnephews. Clark was preceded in death by his mother, Sara “Sally” Slaton Webb, grandparents, Ruth and Harry C. Webb, Sr. and Fannie Sue McGill Slaton McClung, Dan McClung and Fred David Slaton, Aunt, Phyllis Keese Webb and his dog, Merlin.
