

Rick Williams, born in Indianapolis, Indiana on the 9th of November 1951, died on December 29th 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, James Max and Wilma Faye Young Williams. He is survived by: his devoted wife Shirley of 32 years; his son, Lewis Kolodny of Houston TX; his grandson, Ethan Kolodny of Katy TX; his brother and sister-in-law, James David (Duke) and Joyce Williams of St Augustine, Florida; his brother, Thomas Joseph Williams of Colorado; his sister and brother-in-law, Sherrill Rae (Sherry) and John Hoefling of Indianapolis, Indiana; his nephews, James Brian (Jamey) Williams and wife Michelle, Lt. Timothy James (TJ) Williams and wife Jennifer; his niece, Tammy Dee Hoefling; his brother-in-law, Philip Friedberg and his daughter Chava Friedberg; and his devoted companion Kia.
Rick graduated from Warren Central High School in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1970, Ivy Tech Indianapolis in 1973. He served in the Indiana National Guard. Rick then moved to Houston, TX in 1979. He was a lifetime member of the Houston Livestock Rodeo and a past officer on the Livestock committee. Rick was a member of the Association of Pool and Spa Professionals. His passion was to ride his Harleys with his adventurous friends.
Rick will be missed by all that loved him deeply. His memory will carry on by the many lives he has touched.
Rick specifically wrote in his journal that “I want everyone to be relaxed at my funeral, blue jeans, no ties or laptops. Crown Royal and beer at the reception.” The Celebration of Life service will be on Friday, Jan 4th, 2013 at 3:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home Cypress Creek at 9149 Hwy 6 North, Houston, TX 77095, and Officiated by Chaplain Charlie Flanagan.
