Ringo was born and raised into a loving family in Hong Kong, China. Ringo was one of five children. He had an adventurous soul that motivated his move to the United States for college. He graduated from The University of Houston with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. February 2, 1986, Ringo and Janet married. They quickly made a family of their own and had three children.
Ringo enjoyed technology and worked as an IT director most of his life. You would often find him helping a relative or friend with their home computers. His other hobbies included travelling, photography, various sports, and movies. His life was filled with love and excitement. Of his accomplishments, he was most proud of his family and cherished his grandchildren. Ringo is preceded in death by his mother, Ying Chu. He is survived by his loving wife, Janet; their children Cassandra, Stephanie, and Ryan; his three grandchildren from Stephanie and Daniel - Dylan, Kathryn, and Tegan; his father, Kam Wah Cheng; siblings Yuk Hay Au, Ella Chan, Ricky Cheng, and Casey Cheng; as well as many nephews, nieces, and even grand nephews and grand nieces.
Ringo’s funeral will be held at the Brookside Funeral Home at 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. Masks must be worn at all times (covering nose and mouth). Guest entry may be limited.
Wake: Friday, Jan 29, 2021 from 6:00-8:30pm
Funeral: Saturday, Jan 30, 2021 at 2:30pm (live stream available at this time from "Join Livestream" button below)
Flowers can be sent to the Brookside Funeral Home or in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Houston Chinese Church. Checks can be mailed to 10305 S Main St, Houston, TX 77025 with “In memory of Ringo Cheng” in the memo line. Credit card is accepted online at https://hcchome.breezechms.com/give/online. The name and address information is to verify the credit card and will not be passed onto the church. Re enter your name, address, and email address into the “Comments” section so Ringo’s family can acknowledge your kind gift. Unless the information is re entered into the comments section, the family will not know you made a contribution.
