Mrs Lodge was the Dean of Women when I attended Westbury. (class of 1966) while I never had a personal encounter with her in her office, I often saw her in the hall way or at a Home-EC or Future Teacher event. Several years ago I did get to visit with her at one of our mini-reunion luncheons. She was a gracious and lovely lady, full of charm and wit. We had a few moments to visit and tell a couple of stories from my high school years. My condolences go out to your family and I know
that Mrs. Lodge will be missed by those who loved her and those she loved. May you feel the comfort of God's presence in your grief.

Dear Winnie and Family,

Mike and I extend our deepest sympathy to you and your family on the passing of your mother.

Mike and I became friends with Rivers at Braeburn. She was always a wonderful and fun golfer to play with—a true friend.

Love to you all.

Great-Aunt Rivers was a warm and welcoming woman. We’ve never felt so loved than to be introduced to all her friends at Brae Burn CC for dinner! It was a pleasure and honor knowing her. We wish we could be at the memorial service, but we will be thinking of her.

My Aunt Rivers was larger than life. She made such an impression on me as a little girl and through the years. What an amazing, long life she lived, and what a loving, family-focused legacy she leaves behind!

What a great Bedias woman you were, Rivers!!! You were an inspiration to so many people. I feel so lucky to have known you and to think that your parents and my grandparents were next door Bedias neighbors. Now my daughter owns it and she loves it like you did!! Such great history together. You will be missed and Texas has lost another True Blue Texas Woman!

I had more encounters with Mr. Gupton at Westbury High School than I ever did with Rivers Lodge. But about five years ago I had the great opportunity to talk with her for about twenty minutes. Right away I knew I had missed something important in my school years. What a Lady!

Thank you Mrs Lodge for your patience and stern guidance with me. I spent a lot of time in your office! I will never forget the tears in your eyes when you saw me graduate. (Not sure if they were joy or relief). You will never be forgotten!
