

Born in Joplin, Missouri on August 10, 1924 to John and Doris McCarty Clum. Graduated from Sand Springs High School in 1941. Entered the U.S. Air Force in 1943 and served as Bombardier on B24 Liberator. Honorably discharged from active duty in 1945 with rank of Lieutenant. Honorably discharged in 1959 from Air Force Reserves with rank of Captain. Graduated from University of Tulsa in 1949 with Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering. Worked for Schlumberger Well Surveying Corp after graduation until 1957. Employed at Texas Union Petroleum from 1957 to 1992; 35 years of service. Manager of Reservoir Engineering at time of retirement. Registered Professional Engineer in both Oklahoma and Texas. Member of Society of Petroleum Engineers and Society of Professional Well Log Analysts. After retirement, Bob was active at the YMCA where he created and led the Veterans group. Bob enjoyed wood carving and painting and won several awards for his wood carvings. Married Bette Hopkins in 1950; divorced in 1956. Married Janell Schutten Crowe in 1960; married for 55 years.
Preceded in death by father, John Clum, in 1989, mother, Doris, in 1967, half-brother, John in 1998. Survived by wife, Janell Clum, half-sister, Rosemary Tindol, daughter, Jody Rhodes, son, Rock Clum, daughter, Pamela Lynch, son, Brad Crowe, grandchildren: Daniel Rhodes, Benjamin Rhodes, Brett Clum, Ashley Clum, Yvette Hopkins, Kevin Libby, Misty Crowe, and great-grandchildren: Layla Rhodes, Brayden Libby, Bellamie Libby, Tristan Hopkins, and Trevor Hopkins.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, August, 14, 2016 from 4 p.m.- 6 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, Houston, TX. The funeral will be held on Monday, August 15, 2016 at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, Houston.
