Born to Ann Butcher and William Van Gorder, Bob was later adopted by Ernst Conrad, family was the center of Bob's world. Nothing mattered more to him than the people he loved. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose greatest joy came from spending time with family, sharing stories, and creating memories that will be treasured for generations.
Bob grew up with a passion for baseball that stayed with him throughout his life. As a young man, he played semi-professional baseball for the San Antonio Toros, and he remained a devoted fan of the Houston Astros. Whether he was playing the game, watching it, or talking about it, baseball was always close to his heart.
Bob enjoyed a distinguished, lifelong career in medical equipment sales. He was deeply passionate about the medical field and built his reputation on hard work, expertise, integrity, and preparation. Throughout his career, he earned the respect of colleagues and clients alike through his dedication, professionalism, and commitment to excellence.
Bob and his beloved wife, Linda, shared a passion for travel and adventure. While most people are content with a vacation, Bob seemed determined to personally verify that the rest of the world existed. Together they and their dogs explored all corners of the United States in their RV, embracing the freedom of the open road and collecting stories wherever they went. Their travels took them around the globe, visiting 19 countries and experiencing cultures, landscapes, and adventures that many only dream about.
Among all of his travels, one adventure stood above the rest: an African safari. It had been a lifelong dream, and Bob was fortunate enough to see that dream come true in his late 70s. It was an experience he cherished deeply.
Bob had a remarkable sense of humor and a gift for making people laugh. He could find something funny in almost any situation and never missed an opportunity to tell a story, crack a joke, or bring a smile to someone's face. His laughter was contagious, and his presence made every gathering a little brighter.
While his family grieves his loss, they take comfort in knowing that Bob lived life exactly the way he wanted to: surrounded by people he loved and loved him, cheering for the Astros, exploring the world with Linda, their dogs, and collecting enough stories and jokes to keep everyone laughing long after he was gone.
His legacy is one of love, adventure, humor, and unwavering devotion to family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Bob Conrad is survived by his wife of 41 years, Linda Conrad; his sons, Robert Conrad and wife Jada Conrad, and Keith Conrad; and his grandchildren, Jessie Conrad, Jacob Conrad, Madeline Conrad, and Olivia Conrad.
