Robert “Bob” Lee Ferguson, 88, of Houston, Texas, entered into rest on February 8, 2019. He was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on January 1, 1931. Bob Ferguson graduated from Central High School and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from the University of Tulsa.
He was married to Mary Ann Carrington Ferguson for 59 years. Bob Ferguson joined the Navy and graduated from OCS on April 1, 1954. He was discharged from the Navy in 1958 as a Lieutenant. Bob Ferguson continued with the Naval Reserves, during which time he advanced to the rank of Captain, and retired in 1982. Bob Ferguson worked for several different companies and founded a Right of Way company in 1987.
He is survived by his children David Ferguson, Sheryl and Bill Brenneman, Linda and Ken Rivet, Michael and Laura Ferguson, and Robert and Karen Ferguson; grandchildren Amanda and Levi Chavis, Sean McFarlin, Brittany Ganther, Danielle and Felipe Garcia, Emily Ferguson, Hannah Ferguson, Connor Ferguson, Tyler Ferguson; 6 great grandchildren; and a host of cherished friends and loved ones.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 inside the Chapel of American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038. The Celebration of Life service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 14, 2019 inside the Chapel of American Heritage Funeral Home, after which he will be escorted by horse drawn carriage to the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038, where he will be laid to rest with Navy honors.
