Robert V. Friesen “Big Bob”, 73, died Wednesday, December 14th, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston, Tx following the sudden illness of West Nile Virus. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Betty Friesen, daughter Stephanie Schleicher, son Shawn Friesen, sisters Billie Waddle and Betty Jo Brinegar, as well as many other extended family and beloved pets.
Born in Hutchinson, KS in 1943, Bob grew up in West Texas, where he spent most of his life. Bob’s career spanned many years in the oil and nuclear industry, primarily in quality control. He was known for his quick wit, friendly nature, love of Volkswagons, and made friends wherever he went. His presence was bigger than life, and he will certainly be missed by everyone that knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family has established a GoFundMe account in his memory for the continued care of his wife, hospital expenses, cremation, and massive downsizing effort/repairs to take place at their current home.
