

Robert S. (Bob) Harker compounded his last prescription on Friday, November 20, 2015. Bob was born on April 30, 1928 in Trenton, New Jersey to the late Chet and Amelia (Bickel) Harker. Bob is also predeceased by his older sister Doris. Bob is survived by his wife and dancing partner of 66 years, Lillie Mae (Rusty); sons, Steven (Jackie) and Russell; and daughter Robyn. Also surviving Bob are grandchildren Robert, Madison, Chase and Gabriella and a host of nieces and nephews.
Bob Served in the United States Navy and was stationed for a time in Houston where he me Rusty. After finishing his tour of duty, Bob and Rusty married and settled in Houston where he attended and graduated from the University Of Houston School Of Pharmacy. Bob began his professional life in 1953 at Braeswood Pharmacy, and would go on to work at Highland Village and Briargrove Pharmacy, from which he retired in 2014.
For the last 20 years of his career, Bob was a pre-eminent compounding pharmacist. Bob gave generations of Houstonians personalized service and assistance with their medical needs. When not practicing his craft, Bob and Rusty jitterbugged and bowled their way through life and were very early residents of the Valley Lodge subdivision in Simonton, Texas.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at 10:00am at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers are Floyd Carriker, David Davito and grandsons Robert and Chase. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the University Of Houston School Of Pharmacy Scholarship Fund.
