I worked with Bob at Quadrant Construction and he was a good guy. Trying but good. But here's a story I'm not sure many except for those specifically affected by know. We had a taper working for us named German Castro and he had a cousin Navarro who was also a taper and who spoke little to no English. One day they were both late to work and Bob was furious and when they walked in Bob started yelling as was his way. If you knew him you know. Anyway Navarro's wife was pregnant at the time and German described the issue she was suffering with and why they were late. Bob's wife was a maternity nurse, as I recall, and Bob recognized, again as I recall it,  toxemia and knew it was serious. Navarro & his  wife could only afford a clinic though.  He told German to take his (Bob's) Cadillac and go get Navarro's wife and take her to a hospital he knew of and that the company would pay.  None of us argued understandably.
The baby was born healthy and his middle name was (is)  Bob Langeland.
Bob had a lot of heart.

My Dad was an amazing Man, as I grew up in Sunset area, 50th Street and 8th Avenue, in a Brooklyn Apartment, with my Father's  Parnets, living 4 Blocks away, where a big part of my life also, in the neignhood that he also grew up in with his brother, my Uncle Norman!  He lather married, my Aunt Dorothy, their kids, my Cousins Bill, Doreen and John.  
He and my Mother Barbara, always tried to gave my little Brother Rich and I, a life that they gave us, a true, full education, of how they where where taught, their knowledge and gave us a creative life style, which we enjoy today and pass on to our kids!
Then we moved to Bay Ridge, me in 7th Grade to our 2 Family Home, taught me the importants of Real Estate, Construction, being a Union New York City, General Contracor, Creativiness, Business, Boating, we Loved the Ocean, only to mention a few things, that we enjoyed together!  Then after my Mother passed away, he married Lorraine, my Great Step Mother, a truly wonderful woman, that was with him, to the end, of his wonderful life!


Bob Langeland was a Marine who earned the Purple Heart in the frozen hell that was Korea.  Few have the toughness to do what he did for the rest of us.  Bob Langeland endured and triumphed.  The people of South Korea live in a vibrant, growing democracy because of Bob Langeland and those like him.  Bob was loved and respected by his sons Brian and Richie, his wife Lorraine and so many more.  His granddaughters Kellie and Stephanie are, like Bob, already making a difference for the better in our world.

We are all diminished by his passing.  The world misses the no-quit toughness that was the core of Bob Langeland.

It was always a nice time spending Christmas with Bob down in Texas and not just because he made delicious meals for the family, but it was nice having all of our families together to celebrate the holidays together 

Uncle Bob was a person  full of life and love.  He loved boating and riding motorcycles and spending time with his family.  He was a wonderful cook and made  preparing gourmet meals look so easy.   While he was a rugged Marine  earning a Purple Heart, he had a soft side that could be seen while interacting with the children he loved or caring for his cats.   Bob Langeland was a man who was loved and will be missed.

Richie, Christine and Kellie, my condolences with this news. I always enjoyed talking with Robert and Richie going over the days in the past how they loved riding their motorcycles. He was a strong proud man that I'm glad I got to know. Hugs to you all

My memories of Mr. Langeland are mostly from my visits to Texas when Richie and Christine first moved there from Bay Ridge (my home still)...I’ve always known what a great  guy he was, if only from the many stories Richie shared over the years...he will be missed by family and friends for sure, but he certainly left them great memories to have forever...my love to Richie, Christine and Kellie (his little one)....

We met Bob and Lorraine when Christine and Richie got engaged. He took us out for dinner and there was instant comaradaerie.  I knew we were going to be friends for a long time.  We visited them often at their home in Staten Island and spent every Christmas together for over twenty years after they moved to Houston.  Bob was a wonderful chef, delighting us with his filet mignon.  He will be missed but he’s with his parents and the Lord!

Bob welcomed me and my family with open arms 26 years ago when I became his daughter-in-law. He was a kind, giving, generous man who loved his family. He especially loved his granddaughter Kellie calling her “his little one”. There are so many wonderful memories to cherish especially when Kellie and Bob made Norwegian cookies together for a class project 😊.  His stories, laughter and smile is what I will remember the most. I am lucky I get to spend my life with someone who is part of him.....his son.  All my love and wonderful memories to keep forever, Christine 

The few times that I met with him and all the things I have heard over the years show me that he was a wonderful man, for family and country.
I am glad I knew him.

Bob was a dear friend .Missed seeing Him and Lorraine since they went to Texas. When Roy was sick they were there for me. He was a great friend.



My Husband, sweetheart, love of my life has left me and went to heaven. I’ll always have fond memories we had together. He was a wonderful great person and very loved by everyone that knew him. I’ll miss you my darling until we meet again. Love you always.  Your loving wife, Lorraine.
